“Grüß Gott”, welcome to Regitnig at beautiful Lake Weissensee
“Where does the name Regitnig come from?”, we are often asked.
It all started with the name: In 1911, our great-great-grandparents Johann & Theresia Regitnig laid the foundation for the Regitnig with their “Villa Therese” on a meadow in Techendorf. Four generations later, the villa has become todays 4* hotel and the holiday complex – expanded many times over. But one thing has remained the same: We still take incredible pleasure in pampering our guests at the Regitnig Hotel & Chalets at Lake Weissensee in Carinthia, and we love chatting and laughing with them.
The Regitnig is a family business – that's why one of us is actually always to be found in the house or in the complex.
When we sit together, we like to enjoy good food and nice conversations. Yes, we don't need much to be happy, because we live in a beautiful place and do what we love to do: being your hosts!
Your hosts
Michael
He has been managing the Regitnig since 1 December 2024. He is actively supported by his brother Markus, his mother Irmgard and his wife Jasmin – it's a family business, after all! :-)
He has a passion for good wines – becoming a certified sommelier was the logical next step, which is why you will find some rare gems in our wine cellar. To balance out his often stressful working day, he likes to go for a brisk mountain bike ride or surprise our guests with a feel-good infusion in the lake sauna.
He also enjoys tinkering with new dishes with our kitchen team... a true jack of all trades!
Irmgard
Born Regitnig. Taking over from her parents in 1994, she ran the Regitnig with a wealth of expertise, passion and commitment until December 2024. And to be honest, we are delighted that Mum decided to take up active retirement and continues to support us with her knowledge.
She enjoys spending time with her four grandchildren (David, Marie, Sophie and Jakob) and admiring the beautiful flowers in the hotel grounds – as is typical for Mum. She likes to end the day with a chat and a glass of white wine.
Markus
Markus loves the combination of ‘in front of and behind the scenes’ – Excel spreadsheets, booking journals, IT and, in contrast, the warm encounters with our guests in the restaurant. As a lover of the evening hours, you will rarely find him serving breakfast, but we cannot imagine the bar in the evening without Markus.
Jasmin
Wife of Michael and mum to David, Marie and Sophie. She never lacks creative ideas. With lots of love and tact, Jasmin creates very special moments for our guests, and her heart leaps with joy when guests tell her why they enjoy their holidays at Regitnig so much.
Jasmin can usually be found at the hotel in the mornings, because in the afternoons she runs the logistics company called ‘Mama’ – who else remembers that?
David, Marie und Sophie
These are our three rays of sunshine, and as the sixth generation of the Regitnig family, they usually keep Mum, Dad, Grandma, Uncle and the team on their toes.
David, Marie and Sophie also enjoy helping out at the hotel. Marie loves serving, David enjoys helping in the kitchen, and Sophie likes to ‘fratschen’ (Carinthian dialect for ‘ask questions’) with guests at reception :-).
Thomas is the youngest of the 3 brothers and as a passionate hunter, he is a friend of the early hours. After completing his studies, he gained a few years of practical experience in his father's business and now works in Innsbruck for a renowned consultancy firm for the hotel industry.
